HEALTH REQUIRMENTS
 

 ALL SPECIES (except poultry): Official Certificate of Veterinary Inspection on all out of state animals.

 

 

A.     CATTLE: Certificate of Veterinary Inspection. and additional requirements as follows:  

                     A:  Tuberculosis: No requirements. Owners of Michigan, Texas, New Mexico and California orgin cattle should contact the stat verterinan's office for further information

                     B.  Brucellosis: Test eligible cattle -- Intact males or female cattle eightenn (18) months or older. (Vaccinates and Non-Vaccinates)

                         i    Ceritified Herds: No test requirements

                               ii   Class Free States: No test requirements

                               iii  Class A & B: Negative test within 30 days

                                                   

B.     HORSES & OTHER EQUINES:  Negative equine infectious anemia (Swamp Fever) test within 1 YEAR of sale date.    No faxed or photo copies accepted. For a $20 charge, Coggins Testing is Available on Premises, Fee must be paid at time of check in. No deductions from checks will be allowed

 

C.       POULTRY WATER FOWL & GAME BIRDS: Originate directly from a Pullorum-Typhoid Clean Flock, and be accompanied by evidence of negative Pullorum-Typhoid test within six (6) months.

**** Out of State birds must be Pullorum tested.  Testing will be available at the sale. Additional fee of $0.50 per bird due at time of check in.

 

D.    SHEEP & GOATS: Certificate of Veterinary Inspection and meet the requirments of the National Scrapie Identification Program    

 

E.      CAMELIDAE: Same requirments as for cattle           

 

F.     PRIMATES: A negitive TB test is recommended but not required, but must have General Health Papers.

 

G.     SWINE: All in and out of state swine must present with proof of negative pseodo rabies and brucellous test  with in 30 days or be from a validated herd,and have state metal ear tags for perminate ID recorded on health papers and or test certificate. Consignors call TN State Veterinary for health requirements  615-837-5120 or questions.

 

H.     ANTELOPE, RATTITES, and all other MISCELLENEOUS & EXOTIC ANIMALS:  Certificate of Veterinary Inspection.

I.     CERVIDAE: Certificate of Veterinary Inspection. and additional requirements as follows:  

                     A:  Brucellosis: Same requirements as cattle.

                     B.  Tuberculosis

                     C.   Elk & Red Deer: also require a 5 year CWD heard Monitiring. All Cervidae shall originate in herds which have had a negitive herd test for tuberculosis within twelve (12) months with a USDA approved single cervical test within thirty (30) days of entry; or Animals not originating in tested herds negative to two (2) single cervical tests at least ninety (90) days apart, the second test conducted not more than thirty (30) days prior to entry.  

       

All Cervidae shall originate in herds which have had a negative herd test for tuberculosis within twelve (12) months with a USDA approved single cervical test within thirty (30) days of entry: or

Animals not originating in tested herds negative to two (2) single cervical tests at least ninety (90) days apart, the second test conducted not more than thirty (30) days prior to entry

 

 

 

THE USDI, USDA, US FISH & WILDLIFE SERVICE, TWRA, AND TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION LAWS WILL GOVERN  ALL  SALES.  USDA INSPECTOR WILL BE PRESENT AT CHECK IN .  ALL CAGES MUST MEET USDA REQUIRMENTS  !!!!!

 

Please note: USDA has brought to our attention that inadequate cage size, cleanliness, and conditions, may  result in fines being issued. Please be sure that all caged animals have adequate room to stand freely, turn about, and lie down.  Absorbent litter must be present in solid bottom cages. All cages must have clean feed and water containers.  Plastic totes and boxes used for housing must have adequate ventilation holes on all four sides and top to include 2 holes on short sides and 4 on long sides.  No pocket pets accepted in glass tanks.

ALL BIRDS & ANIMALS IN THIS SALE ARE FOR BREEDING, FOOD & FIBER PURPOSED ONLY. ALL GUARANTEES & SALES ARE BETWEEN BUYER & SELLER. ANNOUNCEMENTS DAY OF SALE TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER WRITTEN MATERIAL. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR CASUALTIES OR INJURY TO ANIMALS OR BIRDS WHILE ON OUR PREMISES. WE ACCEPT “SOUND” ANIMALS ONLY! Please do not compromise our position.

 

SELLERS: All caged animals must be in USDA approved temporary or shipping crates with necessary water & feed pans.No pocket pets accepted in glass aquariums.There must be a solid bottom with absorbant clean litter in all mammal cages. We will have chips there for you to add to you cages if needed please feel free to ask Terry or Eddie for any help you may need in the warm room or cage barn.

BUYERS: Each state has their own rules governing the shipment of animals. We will do all we can to get your animals on the road as soon as possible
